Pink Cab OU – Privacy Policy

Pink Cab OU (“Pink Cab,” “we,” or “us”) values the privacy and security of users of our mobile application and services (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data. By accessing or using the Service, you consent to the practices described herein.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to operate and improve the Service:

1.1 Identity and Verification Data

User’s first & last name, date of birth, preferred pronouns, profile picture and when it was uploaded, when the users were verified by Pink Cab, when the user created their account and how long they’ve been a driver (if applicable), and when they have updated their account.
OU OHIO ID, PID, enrollment date, expected graduation date.
Student ID images for verification.
Driver’s license and vehicle images, driver’s license number, license plate number, vehicle year, make, model, and color (if applicable).
When the user requested a code to reset their password.

1.2 Ride and Service Data

Rides the user has requested.
Timestamps for when the ride request was created, the user’s requested time of arrival, fulfilled, and internal update timestamps.
Who the driver and rider were, when the rider was picked up, the ride was completed, and internal update timestamps.
Any ride cancellations and when.
In-app messages: chat logs between riders and drivers, when the messages were sent, read, the sender, and contents of the message. Which conversations the user has been involved in.
Incident reports: The accuser (with anonymity protections), the accused, when the incident report was created, a message (if related), notes, any images associated with the report and when they were uploaded.
Pickup and drop-off locations: Address, latitude and longitudinal coordinates.
Distances between pickup and drop-off locations, and rider notes.
User’s favorite ride requests.
If the user scheduled their account for deletion, and when.
If the user has appealed a suspension, their notes, and when it was created.

1.3 Payment Data

Payment methods and transaction details are processed via Stripe.
When the user issued a payment to another application user, the fares associated (including tips), and who the sender and recipient were.

1.4 Technical and Device Information

Pink Cab OU reserves the right to collect information on:

Device identifiers, operating system version, app version.
IP address, device type, and browser information for security purposes.
Usage data such as app interactions, crash reports, and errors.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

Operate and maintain the Service, including account verification and ride facilitation.
Process payments and manage fees and optional tips.
Communicate with users, including support, notifications, and account-related messages.
Enforce safety and moderation rules, including incident reporting and verification checks.
Comply with legal obligations, including recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention.
Analyze and improve the Service, including app performance and feature enhancements.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

Service providers: Third-party partners necessary to operate the Service, including:

Stripe (payments)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) (hosting)
Mapbox (maps, routing)
Firebase (notifications)

Legal and safety obligations: When required by law or to protect Pink Cab, users, or third parties from harm
Internal enforcement: Admins and staff reviewing incidents, account violations, and moderation actions

All third-party providers operate under their own privacy policies; Pink Cab disclaims responsibility for independent third-party actions.

4. User Rights and Choices

You may delete your account by contacting Pink Cab; however, certain records may be retained for legal, safety, or financial purposes.
You can manage notifications and app permissions through device settings.
Use of the Service requires consent to the collection and processing of personal data. Declining to provide required data will prevent use of the Service.

5. Data Retention

User verification data (IDs, licenses, photos) may be retained as long as your account is active or as necessary for safety, moderation, and legal compliance.
Ride and payment records are retained for financial recordkeeping and dispute resolution.
Data no longer required may be securely deleted or anonymized.

6. Security

Pink Cab employs administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your data, including:

Password hashing and two-factor authentication (2FA/MFA)
Secure transmission via HTTPS/WSS (TLS 1.2+)
Access restrictions for staff handling personal data

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You acknowledge and accept this inherent risk.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended only for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. COPPA and GDPR-K do not apply due to our age restrictions. This service does not target users under the age of 18.

8. Third-Party Services

Stripe, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Mapbox, and Firebase may collect and process data in accordance with their privacy policies.
Users should review third-party privacy policies when interacting with services through the Pink Cab app.

9. International Data Transfers

All data is stored and processed in the United States. Users outside the U.S. consent to transfer and processing under U.S. law.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Pink Cab may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Updates will be communicated via one or more of the following methods:

In-app notification
Banner or modal message
Email notification
Updated acceptance required on next login

Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
